qualified NICU RN in Columbus, Georgia, 31901 About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse - NICU Job Specialty: NICU Job
Duration: 12 months Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 2 years; 1st
timers not accepted License: GA or Compact license required
Certifications: BLS and NRP Must-Have: Experience with NICU patient
care Job Description: - Work in a 46-bed NICU with 34 Level III
beds and 12 step-down beds. - Part of one of the 6 perinatal
centers in Georgia, with responsibilities including the transport
of neonates from 9 delivering hospitals. - Proficient in all modes
of respiratory support, including Nasal Cannula, CPAP, NIMV, Vents,
and HFOV. - Medication administration including titratable drips,
NG/OG, and NJ feeds. - Care and maintenance of chest tubes,
umbilical lines, and PICC lines. - Perform discharge teaching,
including CPR and Car Seat testing, CCHD screens, and heel sticks
for routine lab work. - Administer blood products. - Handle
admissions, discharges, delivery attendance, and set up for
procedures. - Participate in daily multidisciplinary team rounds. -
Maintain a patient ratio of 1:3-4, with an average daily census of
34. - Use unit systems such as Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR. - Wear
specified scrub color (Royal Blue or Navy). - Provide up to 7 days
of requested time off (RTO). - Work 4 to 5 weekends on a 6-week
schedule, including 2 minor and 1 major winter holidays. - Float
within the facility and sister campus as needed. - Fulfill call
requirements of 1 to 2 shifts per 6-week schedule. - Work on major
holidays as mandated by assignment period. - Complete 13 hours of
orientation. - Ensure full compliance with deadlines prior to the
start date. Candidates must be available to submit core items and
complete/schedule labs within 48 hours of signing the contract to
ensure an on-time start. Return travelers must complete a
successful assignment outside previous locations prior to booking a
